The sun is shining, it's summer time! 


Here are some tips to stay safe outdoors!



Outdoor Safety

  • Play in areas away from traffic & water.
  • Play in areas away from electrical equipment, air conditioners, lawn equipment and tools.
  • Play in areas away from poisonous plants.
  • Check play equipment for sharp edges or bolts sticking out


Do you and your family go CAMPING? 


If so, here are several important tips to avoid injury while enjoying camping!



  Practice Fire Safety

  • Dig or use a small pit away from overhanging branches.
  •  Circle the pit with rocks oruse a metal fire ring.
  • Clear a five-foot area around the pit from things that may start on fire. 
  • Keep a bucket of water and a shovel nearby.
  • Stack extra wood away from the fire upwind. 
  • Always have someone watch the fire.


Protect yourself from the sun/heat by:

  • Seeking shade whenever possible
  • Covering up
  • Wearing a hat
  • Wearing sunglasses
  • Applying sunscreen



Bring first aid supplies to properly prepare for blisters, scratches, and other injuries.


Bring bottle water to ensure safe drinking water.


Bring proper clothing and equipment for changing weather. 



 Protect yourself from bug bites by:

  • Using bug spray
  •  Wearing long sleeves and pants when the weather permits
  • Know the peak mosquito hours, when the sun rises & sets
